The HTC Desire : A Short Guide

In order to get ahead in the world of Android smartphones, the HTC Desire has been created to see to the needs of even the most discerning consumer. After the success of the HTC Legend, the Nexus One from Google was taken as inspiration for the Desire, but they are not one and the same, as some people think. For example, HTC Sense, the user interface used on the Desire, is widely regarded to be a superior UI to the one used on the Nexus One. You can get as many as seven homescreens, packed with whatever applications and widgets you see fit.

When you are in an application, you can open up the app’s individual features by using your finger to scroll along the bottom of the screen, which is very intuitive. You will be able to easily navigate through your music and media player, as well as your contacts and messaging. When you want to play back movies, simply rely on the 3.7″ screen, which can show these movies and shows in crystal clarity.

With the HTC Desire, you can get about 576MB of RAM and 512 of ROM. The phone itself comes with an 8GB card, but you can replace it with a bigger one if you deem it necessary. The 5 megapixel camera is nothing to laugh at, either as it comes with LED flash and autofocus, making your phone pictures amazingly bright and clear. There is even the ability to store 800 x 400 resolution video on your phone as you record it.

The HTC Desire is equipped with a relatively small 512 MB of memory which does not provide a great deal of space, but the expandable memory slot allows for a total up to 16 GB with an optional micro SD card. The touchscreen measures at 3.7 inches and features WVGA resolution with rich, vivid colors and excellent details. The HTC Desire offers a default Sense UI which does a great job capitalizing on the display’s capabilities.

The size of the Desire is 119 x 60 x 11.9mm, with a strong, durable case that will hold up to even severe punishment. It will also slip a lot less than other smartphones, due to the soft touch backing you can find on it. The four keys and optical mouse make navigation a snap, and easily beat the navigation systems you can see on the majority of other smartphones on the market.

The Most Addicting iPhone Apps of 2009

I’ve had my iPhone for over a year now, and I love the apps on the phone. There’s no better way for me to pass the time now, whether I’m riding on the train or waiting for an appointment to begin.

The library of games available for download continues to grow, and each month I see some great new additions to the list. By the time you read this article, I’ll probably have moved on to some more great iPhone games. Either way, these are some games that are definitely worth checking out. I’m going to give you three that I think you’ll enjoy.

If you’ve never played Paper Toss, I would recommend downloading it. It’s a free game, so you have nothing to lose by trying it out. All you have to do is take a crumpled piece of paper and throw it into a garbage across the room.

With three levels, you can determine the distance from the garbage and the strength of a fan that’s blowing the paper in different directions. Depending on the strength and placement of your push, the paper may or may not get into the garbage.

2. ESPN’s Cameraman. This is a great game that’s just like the photo hunt game you’ve probably played in bars. Playing against a timer, you must recognize the differences in two pictures before the timer runs out. It’s incredibly fun.

All of the questions are sports-themed, and they’re really challenging too. I would definitely look into this one if it sounds like it may appeal to you.

3. Scramble. This game is just like Boggle, only you can play it online against over 100 people all at once. I love the idea of competing against others, which makes this game extremely addicting once you take the pride factor into consideration.

Try any of these games out. Based on their overall popularity, I have a feeling you’ll enjoy them very much.
