Nokia’s new C6 is a slider QWERTY Smartphone which possesses support for e-mail, social networking and web surfing. Nokia have pre-installed a digital camera, FM radio and have supplied you with a microSD slot to expand the phones external memory space up to 16GB. There is loads of Ovi perks to enhance your experience, Bluetooth for wireless file transfer and an A-GPS is in place for navigational support. The phone has been designed with the young messaging crowd; it is sturdy enough to handle the rough and tumble lifestyle and has enough features to keep its user busy. It comes in both black and white and looks great on both variations, the C6 boasts a very pretty 3.2inch nHD touch screen; it’s resistive as apposed to capacitive but the QWERTY keyboard makes up for the lack of multi touch. As you would expect the screen has a built-in accelerometer for auto-rotate functionality and it also comes with a brightness control. Nokia are again relying on the Symbian operating system with the S60 overlay, they deliver the same easy to use menu layouts as previous Symbian devices, and the interface also offers up the same widget based controls which can be edited to suite your needs. You make shortcut widgets for you favourite contacts bringing them to the surface for quick easy access and you can have a stream of Facebook updates and tweets from Twitter direct to your home screen, other widgets representing your calendar, e-mail, web browser and media can also be added and accessed from your home screen. You can connect to the World Wide Web using a reliable 3G network or you can connect via the Wi Fi technology if there is a WLAN hotspot nearby and the C6 is integrated with YouTube so you can watch your favourite clips and upload your own.

One of the C6′s key features is, of course the QWERTY keyboard, Nokia have enlisted the help of the keyboard to work along side the messaging and e-mail services they have pre-installed, along with the free Ovi Mail e-mail service the C6 is compatible with tons of other providers too; Hotmail, Gmail, WindowsLive and Yahoo! Mail are in the bunch, the e-mail client is quite useful, letting you manage your inboxes, send and receive and open attachments. Nokia have allowed full use of there Ovi Store which is home to a number apps, games, wallpapers and themes for you to customize your C6 with, they have also included the Ovi Music Store so you can download your favourite tunes to add to your music collection. Nokia have thrown in there Ovi Maps app which works in collaboration with the A-GPS to get you from A-B and Ovi Contacts will keep you connected with your friend’s latest activities. The device comes with a great 5 mega pixel digital camera, it has a dual LED flash which doubles as a scene light when recording high quality videos, and you can upload your photos and videos to your favourite social networks and sharing sites like YouTube. The music player is pretty handy; it can be accessed via the mini application on your home screen and with the micro USB port you can synch your C6 to your PC for device management in your PC suite, you can rip music onto your computer and simply drag it over to your phone.

The Nokia C6 is an accomplished QWERTY Smartphone, it allows you to handle your social networks and e-mail accounts fully and you have full exposure to the internet with its speedy web connectivity. The phone should see success from its abundance of features alone, its visually pleasing exterior will appeal to anyone with taste and its robust build will stand up to anything you throw at it, or throw it at!
